This shoot played with the concept of an elopement between a couple on Sydney's Northern Beaches - which is such a current theme in 2020. We played with the idea of a couple saying their vowes, and then spending the afternoon enjoying each other's company, exploring, celebrating, and simply taking it all in, preparing for this next exciting stage in their journey together.
We wanted to create a beach-boho vibe, so utilised dried flowers with earthy and natural tones with the help of The Faux Fernery.
Of course, our newlyweds needed some bubbly and cocktails to help celebrate their new nuptials! We loved styling the beautiful mobile caravan bar by My Little Peony.
Personally, I'm obsessed with white cheesecloth - I seem to find use of it at every single wedding and shoot we do. For me, it has a light, airy, cloud-like feel, and just creates this beautiful soft texture, in this case working perfectly with the deep colours and hard lines of the bar sign, geometric tealight holder and corresponding florals.
We styled the smaller caravan window with our wooden LOVE sign, a set of pillar candles, and some dried flowers and foliage layered on top of some gold-painted faux leaves.
Part of our job as a stylist is to be able to think on our feet and problem solve, and unfortunately during our (extraordinarily windy) shoot, our largest (and my personal favourite) urn toppled over and fell. So - we made the group decision to salvage the top half of the urn, which was completely undamaged, and still use it to house flowers next to the Kombi Weddings beautiful Evie kombi.
We still think our urn looks beautiful! The show must go on! Although we'll be looking to replace it in the coming weeks.
Above you can see just one half of our elopement setup - a comfortable boho-styled setup rattan furniture and jute rug. We love how this looks next to the stunning blue Evie kombi! (and take note of our half-urn near the kombi door...!)
Here's our stunning bride and groom enjoying the view.. <3
We styled this side of the setup with our beautiful rattan flower chairs and white urns.
Finally, we utilised the light up LOVE letters with Keiren from InLight Studios for some ocean-facing shots.
Once we were finished, the amazing Chris from At Dusk Photography took our couple around Palm Beach for some more intimate photos.
Then into the kombi with Wendy for a few final sunset pics.
...and a sneaky final BTS photo with the whole team. It couldn't have been a more perfect shoot (and the photos are next level!)
